The XS One2One Program is about equipping each student with an iPad in every subject so that through the gadget, he can access the Internet to deepen and/or enrich his learning, collaborate better with students inside and outside the school, create more authentic projects to demonstrate his learning, among other things.
2. What is the required iPad model for the G6 One2One Program?

3. Why can’t we use the iPads that we already have? Why do we have to buy a new one if our current iPad does not fall within the list of accepted models?
As we begin the One2One Program in the elementary level, we cannot anticipate enough the challenges that this innovation will bring. To help the teachers and students adjust to the change smoothly, we will prioritize fairness vis-à-vis efficiency. Having the same gadget (or gadgets with almost the same capabilities) will enable the teachers to give only one set of instructions and to have similar expectations among all students in terms of quality of work output, speed of working on tasks and sufficient storage for educational apps and student projects. Moreover, in terms of efficiency, hardware and other logistical concerns will be dealt with more easily with only one type of unit.
4. Is it a must to purchase the iPad from Xavier School?
No, you may purchase from any vendor of your choice.
5. How do we purchase an iPad from Xavier School?
Senco Link Technologies, Inc. is the official Apple dealer that Xavier School works with.
You may also contact Mr. Jabbar B. Baroga, Account Executive for Education at (02)

6. If we cannot afford to purchase the required iPad model, can we rent or borrow from the school?

The rental fee for one school year is ₱8,000 inclusive of insurance.
8. Are there other external accessories that we should purchase?
REQUIRED
The iPad insurance premium is P1,000. The coverage will be for loss and/or damage within the school premises and for a period of 10 months only, i.e., June 2018 to March 2019. Outside school premises claims will not be accepted.
The insurance will cover as much as 60% of either loss or material damage, but the actual cost covered will depend on the evaluation of the insurance company. For loss or damage that happen while the unit is under the school’s care, e.g., on a weekend while the unit is left inside the classroom, the parents will get 100% of the assessed cost of the unit.
10. Is insurance required?
Insurance is NOT required, except for units that are rented or borrowed from the school. However, parents who opt not to insure their iPad will be made to sign a waiver attesting to their knowledge of all the possible risks of not insuring their unit. The signed waiver is a requirement for enrolment if the unit will not be insured. (Note: For parents who will authorize other people to enroll their sons on their behalf, please make sure you have a signed waiver ready in case you do not plan to insure your son’s iPad. Waiver attached.)

If unit is with Senco

Yes, but the school will sync the iPad which means all the files and apps in the unit will be deleted and replaced with the school’s iPad configuration.
15. Is Apple Care required and what does it cover?
No. Apple Care may be purchased and registered independently within 1 year of purchase of an iPad. All new Apple devices have a one-year warranty. Purchase of Apple Care extends the warranty of your device for another year. This covers software and hardware malfunctions due to factory defects or that occur without intervention.
16. When should the students bring the iPad to school?
iPads should be brought to school on the 1st day of class.
17. Can my son bring home his iPad every day?
No. Feedback from parents in XS High School and from other schools reveal that most students do not have enough self-mastery to ensure that iPad use at home is limited to school work. Given this, we have decided to limit the use of the iPad to activities in school only, i.e., teachers will not give homework that will require the use of the iPad.
Nevertheless, to give the parents a chance to view the work of their sons that are stored in the iPad and to share with them the apps that they usually use in class, the students will be allowed to bring the gadget home during the semester break, Christmas break and summer vacation. (Rented and borrowed units will be surrendered to the NExT Office on the last day of school.) Please note that loss and damage incurred during this window will not be covered by insurance.
18. Who will use my son’s iPad if it is left in school?
No one. The iPad units will be kept under lock and key at charging cabinets inside the classrooms. Only your son will have access to his own iPad.
19. How will we install applications on the iPad?
For this school year, the NExT Office will install all apps on the units regardless if they are paid or free. A P100 fee for the paid app will be added to your son’s miscellaneous fees to cover for the required paid apps.
20. Is my son allowed to have personal files in his iPad?
Yes. As long as the content has been obtained legally (not pirated), and as long as the content does not violate existing school policies (e.g. games), your son may have personal files in his unit.
21. Is my son allowed to install and play games on the iPad?
No. Xavier School has a NO GAMES policy. Games cannot be installed nor played while in school. The device must be free of any games.
22. How will Xavier monitor what applications / files are on the iPads of the students?
The school reserves the right to confiscate and search iPads if there is reason to believe that the units have been used in a way that violates school policies. Random searches may also be conducted to check on possible policy violations.
23. Will the school conduct any workshop or session about the iPad for parents?
Yes. The NExT Office will conduct a series of One2One workshops for parents within the school year.
